I have participated a live party at CREAM-Bar in Kiya-machi,Kyoto on June 27, 2009. It was a Saturday evening that I brought my projectors with me to produce D-K Light effects in the party that Jiku-Yokai (時空妖怪, aka YU-KA) produced in her anniversary month of June. She is a friend of Luten.Tom@gmail.com and Tom had introduced me of her the other day. She looked so charming, a tall girl as a cyborg lady in the manga cartoon, that was one of my favorite American cartoon, or it was a movie called, 'Charlie's Angel.
She had been planning to produce a party where her friends would enjoy one night with a variety of music and dances at her favorite club, called CREAM bar located in the downtown Kyoto, Kiya-machi (木屋町) where I could find night-bars, restaurant and sex shops. The bar located on the 3rd floor was not so easy to find out for me that I did ask her to pick me up in the front of the hidden building on that street.
I arrived there 20:40, 80 minutes before the party was going to be started. DJ were already there and I had asked to have some stuffs to prepare that 2 projectors would be installed on 180 cm-high-level in order to projects lights effectively to the stage direction. I could well equip the projectors and I went out of the bar to have some sandwich with a glass of sake. When I just started to have sake at the Takase-gawa river area, in front of tobacco shop, a woman whom I saw in the bar appeared and she just bowed me with saying, ' I came down for cigarettes' with a polite manner of her. I chatted with her for minutes and she told me that she had been working in a bar with music/dance close to the CREAM bar. She worked also in the Gofuku (Kimono/Dress) shop in the Muromachi-dori street, where I once borrowed a room in the year 2007. The street of Muromachi-dori is one of my favorite one in Kyoto, where I can easily sense the old air of Kyoto. That street leads parallel to the Imadegawa-street, next to Gosho (Emperor's Palace) is one of the oldest street in Kyoto, I know.
The party started. The DJ commenced to play discs. Jiku-Yokai started tuning her instruments with Apple's Macintosh laptop.
At midnight, YU-KA, Jiku-Yokai (時空妖怪), meaning 'Time-Space Specter' was going to perform her noise music. I had never seen her performance before. With DJ sound continuing, Yokai (the Specter) pushed the sequencer button to generate nature sounds like bird voices etc.
Sometimes she added her real voices through the microphone and then the birds' crying voice followed. I do not know how I can call this kind of music, or just a noise sound generation?
Yokai took her guitar in the red-colored D-K light background.
She played a guitar with generating strings noises that would not be able to be called a noise of Jimmy Hendrix. The noises of guitar, that was all I heard there.
Well, she was charming enough to be act like Jimmy Hendrix' guitar destruction performance, as she is admired as 'the Charlie's angel' or 'a super-cyborg woman' in the cartoon.
Then, a friend of Yokai, MISS.LAZY YU and STEVEN commenced to play rhythm and blues. Lazy Yu played harmonica in her hand and Steven and the guitar followed her.
The most wonderful music I experienced there was the last one of Miss Lazy Yu, Steven on the keyboard with the guitar. A real rhythm and blues.
After DJ's music had started again, TETSU on Djembe drum joined the session and everybody started dancing on the floor.
A good dancer on the floor had asked me if I would have drug for a joy, but I did not take that. He went in and out of the bathroom with an American guy, as Yokai and Miss Lazy Yu did the same.
It was a good night party in Kyoto, and I realized that I could not continue dancing like those who get drunk and aspiring for drugs.

It was amazing performances for 1st anniversary for Luten.Tom's shop. I loved Kohta Matsudaira '松平こうた''s happy girl's high tone voice and that of guitar and drums band, Tsuki-No-Minato (Moon Port) '月の港'. The vocal is quite impressive as the clear vocal of 'Creedence Clearwater'. Luten.Tom on drum was also cool !!
